Healthy Food for Humans: What Really Belongs in the Human Body?

I thought there was so much useful information in this video that will help you get started or continue on your raw vegan fruitarian diet. I am including here, in this post a summery of everything I learned watching this video, plus a lot of my own thoughts and knowledge. All you have to do is be open to this information and then implement it for best results.

The first thing we need to remember here is, out of all the thousands of wild animal species we are the only ones who have been consuming an unnatural diet. Animals in the wild don't over eat, and they don't eat anything not natural to their species and available in their natural environments.

All natural animals eat according to their own species and all members of that species eat the same basic diet. Likewise we humans all have the same digestive tract, the same organs, and the same basic needs. Why do we think that we are all so different? And, need to eat different foods than our species would allow?

We are the only species on the planet that flavors, and spices our foods before we eat it. We are also the only species on the planet that feels we need to eat cooked foods. Now there is a lot of reasons for why we feel this way, but I am not getting into that here. Bottom line is we must eat what is designed by nature and or God for us to eat. The fact that we as a human beings are so sick is because we have become accustomed to consuming an unnatural diet. A diet not designed for us!

So, What should you eat as a human being?

As you have learned in the video we humans must eat a human diet. There are some things we can observe that tells us what foods our species is designed to eat. In the video Loren mentions that animals and humans only want to eat what is naturally appealing to them. He talks about how the vibrant colors of fruit makes us simply want to eat it. This is why fruit is so colorful. When rip on the tree fruit calls to us and speaks to the primitive natural side of us. Fruit is easy for a naturally fit human to obtain. And it's sweetness is something we all crave. Fruit is also easily digested for the specific digestive systems human have.

In school we are told that humans are the combo of the herbivore/carnivore species, and the word omnivore was then applied to humans. But, we simple do not have physical bodies and digestive tracts which tell us this. Think of the true herbivores you know of, such as a cow, goat, horse, rabbit, etc... Do we have the same digestive systems as they do? NO we don't. Do we graze with our heads to the ground all day long? NO we don't. Do we see grass and think this is food for me? NO we do not!

Think about the true carnivores you know of, such as a cats like lions, and tigers. Also look at the wolf, snakes and polar bears. Do we have the same digestive systems as these animals? NO. Do we find killing our food with our teeth, ripping out their arteries and drinking their blood appealing? NO, and if we do we are labeled as deranged. Wouldn't we rather pick some fruit off of a tree and eat our fill then do that? Yes we would!

Now let's look at the animals that closely resemble us and in fact have the same digestive systems as we do. I am talking about primates. Science has told us that are closest animal cousins are in fact primates. More specifically Bonobos and chimpanzee. In fact we share 96% of our DNA with chimps and as much as 99% of the DNA that a bonobo has.

We are wrongly taught that primates are herbivores but this is just not true. Primates are actually fruit eaters. We call this frugivore, and for some reason this is a fact left out of science class. I believe that is because the powers that be do not want us to know what our true diet is. The Medical, Pharmaceutical and Animal agriculture Industries don't want us to know that the key to health and vitality is as simple as eating a fruit diet. Image how much money they would lose if we all began eating a diet specifically designed for our bodies, a diet that is designed by God to keep us as vital as Adam and Eve in the garden. Imagine how much money these capital I industries would lose if we got healthy?

Ok, back to the bonobos...

The bonobo's diet is largely fruitarian. Foraging in small groups, bonobos feast primarily on fruit, but when necessary they also eat leaves, flowers, bark, stems, roots, insect larvae, worms, crustaceans, honey, eggs, and soil. Occasionally they hunt small mammals like flying squirrels. Bonobos eat a diet natural to them from their natural environments.

Now, we are not bonobos that is why we don't eat everything that they do, although we certainly could handle it as long as our primary food was fruit. The problem is instead of eating lots of fruit and implementing a fruit based diet we as humans typically consume a junk food and animal based diet. If you take a bonobo and feed him the standard American diet he will become sick with the standard American diseases that afflicts most Americans. In fact animals in captivity fed an unnatural diet will and do in fact develop cancer, diabetes, and heart disease just like we do.

If you are a Christian you should read Gen 1:29, which outlines God's original diet for man. The diet he intended for us. The diet that was intended to sustain the optimal health and vitality Adam and Eve first enjoyed. I think you get the point. Feel free to do your own research. This makes sense to me and that is my focus.

Junk food!

Junk foods are foods that contain fat, complex sugars, salts, spices, natural and artificial flavoring. Also preservatives, especially chemical preservatives. For the record I do not believe we should be eating anything that has chemical preservatives, and artificial anything in it. But, even a raw vegan who consume whole plant based foods can fall into a junk food frenzy of high nut fat, highly flavored and seasoned foods. Yes there is such thing as raw vegan fruitarain junk food, and that is something I personally try to avoid. Sure those foods are great for once in awhile when you just want your food to entertain you, but if you are going for disease elimination or prevention it is best to stay off of any food that is complicated. That is also Loren's message.

We are addicted to these complicated foods. That is why we "feel fine" or "feel better" when we eat them. This doesn't mean however that what we just ate is good for us. Food addiction is no different than an addiction to any other substance that only satisfies the craving it creates, but damages the body in the process.  In other words; When we consume a substance we are only satisfying the need, that the substance has created. It only cures the problems that it has created, ie; the call to consume it again. This can manifest as stomach grumbling, or discomfort which most people think is hunger. A headache, or just an insatiable desire to consume again. This in no way means that the substance is good for us!

Since beginning this journey over a year ago I have learned just how addicted I am to foods. I never considered myself addicted to anything, or having an addicted personality, but going through this and eliminating everything, but fruit and simple salads, I now know that I am addicted real bad, to foods. It gets better with time, but I realize we must never feed the addiction, or it sets us back. The hardest thing about this life is getting over these addictions. But, once you have gotten off of these addicted foods, the body can then begin to cleanse and heal.

Complicated foods are stimulants!

Like Loren said in this video salts, flavorings like herbs, complex sugars and even proteins are stimulants. Stimulants are not good for us! Stimulants are addicting and as already mentioned only fix the problem it creates. Eating more of a food that only stimulates your body will not lead to health and will in fact lead to body breakdown from overburdening the Adrenal glans and other body systems.

A raw vegan fruitarian diet if not properly is a diet free of these stimulating foods and or only in very low quantities such as protein. We get our protein from fruits and simple salads but when we over eat we tax the system. You heard him say that when we eat more protein than we need we age and die faster. This just one reason why we should avoid concentrated complicated foods such as meat, dairy, eggs, and processed foods. Fruits, and vegetables contain everything we need in the proper balance for a human being and it is virtually impossible to over eat when you only consume fresh ripe fruits and veggies in their whole natural state.

The only way to over eat on a raw vegan fruitarian diet is to eat blended foods, dehydrated foods, and those gourmet style raw meals with all of the nuts, seeds, salts, and spices. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you will see that I often only eat whole fruit, but getting off of my daily smoothie is something that I am working on myself. I also don't do the gourmet raw meals, but I will create a blended raw dressing for my evening salads. I have been eating a little more nuts and seasoned dressings for my salads this winter for building up my energy stores, getting ready for the summer. But, my diet is always and has been for the last year and a half whole fresh raw fruit! I will do a smoothie and fresh raw fruit all day. And salads in the evening several days per week if not a little more if I have the ingredients.

Anyway I hope you watched the video and enjoyed it as much as I did. I also hope you enjoyed my comments and summery here. Feel free to leave a friendly comment. Until next time God bless and happy fruit eating!

Micheal Arnstein aka The Fruitarian

Lately I have gotten back to watching the informational and inspiring videos of Micheal Arnstein aka The Fruitarian. He is a runner, a father, and husband. A few years ago he decided to go fruitarian for his health as well as his performance as an athlete. He lives in New York and is proof that a fruitarian lifestyle is possible even when you don't live in a tropical climate. I am including a few videos for you to get to know him better. I am definitely inspired by him and what he is doing! I think you will be too. I have specifically selected a few videos by The Fruitarian that answers many of the common questions people have about fruitarianism. Enjoy!

A little about Micheal and his person life.

Where do you get good fruit on a Fruitarian diet in a city like New York?

Fruitarianism in cold climates.

So, what's wrong with cook food anyway?

Love this information!

Urban Vegan Chic | An Interview about My Fruit Thing

The one thing I love the most about social media is the chance to meet new and like minded people. In fact that is why I joined social media so long ago. As a homeschooling stay at home mom it is very difficult to meet new people. My life has always been wrapped up in my kids and immediate family. And other than family gatherings I rarely get out. But thanks to social media, Facebook and You Tube I am meeting so many nice people.

The best part is I get to meet like minded individuals, those that share a common interest. I do have many interest and my most important interest I think is that in the area of holistic health, healing and healthy diet in general. I am in so many wonderful groups on Facebook with so many great people. One such person is my new friend Nina, she is a member in one of the groups I am in on Facebook. She is a blogger, and vegan lifestyle enthusiast! She operates a vary successful blog called Urban Vegan Chic. It's all about vegan food, and lifestyle.
Urban Vegan Chick
urbanveganchic.com

A great resource for those needing some new vegan ideas or are interested in embarking on this wonderful journey. Her blog isn't necessarily about Fruitarianism, but she has written about that as well. Recently Nina messaged me and wanted to do a little interview for her blog. It's a short little post about my journey and some helpful advice for those wanting to try out a fruitarian diet. Please check it out here; My Fruit Thing: An Interview. I was happy to help and she did an awesome job putting it all together. I am grateful for the opportunity to be interviewed. I wanted to return the favor, as well as let my viewers know about her awesome vegan site.

No matter what area of veganism you have chosen I hope that My Fruit Thing, and Urban Vegan Chic can inspire you to do more for your health and this planet. Because when we are healthy, we are happy and when we go vegan we know that we are a part of something bigger than us. For me veganism is how we care for our selves, our neighbor, our planet, and every beautiful creature that we share this earth with. It's the Golden Rule at it's best!

What about Protein? | Fruitarian Protein Myth

Debunking the myth that you can't get enough protein on a raw vegan fruitarian diet.

This is the most common question and usually the first one asked. Since I have been implementing a raw vegan fruitarian diet, I have been getting it all the time. In fact no one cared about my protein intake until I went vegan.

But, what about protein?

People/society are so conditioned to think that the only protein a human can get is from meat, eggs or dairy. Well I am writing this to debunk that. And, to show you that a raw vegan fruitarian diet can, and does provide more than enough quality protein for optimal health.

In fact plant based protein is superior for our bodies than any other source. Fruit based protein is an easily digestible protein in the form of amino acids and is easily used by our bodies. It is much simpler for our bodies to break down, because it contains basic amino acids. Whereas meat contains a second hand protein and must still be broken down by the body. In other words it must be broken down back into amino acids to be utilized.

When we eat fruits, berries, melons and veggies we get protein in the form of amino acids, and our body builds protein structures out of that. But, when we eat meat which is already structured proteins (another animals muscles), our body must break it down back into amino acids just so our bodies can use them.

This extra process creates acid wastes, and toxic build up which promote symptoms of body break down, which we call disease. Not to mention meat is loaded with artery clogging animal fats and cholesterol! An animal based diet has no fiber as well and this only adds to the problems! A raw vegan fruitarian diet is a naturally low fat, high fiber, high carbohydrate diet that promotes health, life and vitality!

Something that I have always said "If we want to live we need to eat living foods. Likewise eating dead foods will promote disease and death." I will be doing more posts on this topic. For now back to how much protein we can get from fruit alone. I have also included the calorie value as well as fat content.

These figures are based on a 2,000 calorie diet. Obviously the more active you are the more calories from fruit you will want to consume. And if you are not a very active person or not a very tall person you would be fine to consume less. For myself I try to keep my calorie intake between 1,500 - 2,000 although I would eat more if I was more active.

So, the protein, calories, and fat in some of the fruits that many fruitarians may be eating at this time in the fall and winter is as follows. Keep in mind this is an example, but all fruit is similar in protein, calories and fat content.

Here's the numbers...

4 medium bananas = 5.16 grams of protein, 420 calories, and about 1.56 grams of fat
5 medium oranges = 6.15 grams of protein, 310 calories, and about  .80 grams of fat
5 tangerines = 2.85 grams of protein, 185 calories, and 1.1 grams of fat
5 apple/Japanese persimmons = 4.85 grams of protein, 590 calories, and 1.60 grams of fat
5 roma tomatoes = 4 grams of protein, 175 calories, and 5 grams of fat
1 large avocado = 4.02 grams of protein, 322 calories, and 29.47 grams of fat

When we add it up we get an healthy 27.03 grams of protein! And an optimal 2,002 calories, as well as about 39.53 grams of fat. If you think that is still a low intake of protein, and fat, think again. The average American consumes way to much protein and fats! This leads to most of the health problems that we see today like heart disease, diabetes and some cancers. Dr. Morse and many others report an increase in overall pain when proteins go much higher than 20-30 grams. High protein diets are acidic diets. And human beings aren't high protein creatures like carnivores.

If a fruitarian wants to cut the fat out a little they just simply eat less avocados. And if they want a little extra protein they just eat more fruit, or add a handful of nuts or seeds. Just 1/4th cup of raw sunflower seeds adds an addition 7 grams of protein. And a 1/4th cup of raw almonds give 6 grams. Many fruitarians eat seeds and nuts as needed or desired.

You also get a lot of fiber as a fruitarian which is essential to proper elimination, and the prevention of cancer, especially colorectal cancer which is the second leading cause of death in the United States! Based on the example above you would get about 80 grams of fiber or more per day as a fruitarian. Say good buy to constipation and irregularity issues! Doesn't that sound nice?

A fruitarian eats similar to the example above on a daily basis and as you can see there is no lack of protein, calories or fat! Also eating this way is super clean and full of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and water! Everything we need for optimal health. Not to mention fruit is naturally detoxifying and as already mentioned, loaded with beneficial fiber for proper elimination. It’s the perfect food for humans and there is no cooking or preparation (aside from maybe cutting it up, peeling it or blending it) required.

On a daily basis as a fruitarian my diet may vary a little bit from above. In fact a fruitarian diet varies from day to day, season to season, but it's still fruit for me daily. Some days I will include mangoes, and less oranges, or more bananas and less persimmons, etc.. I eat in season and what I currently have available to me at the time. Each season supplying us with exactly the type of foods we need.

Some days I may include some cooked sweet potatoes just because I like them and they do not cause me any adverse health issues. I may even have some veggies or greens some days if I want to. A fruitarians primary food is fruit but that doesn't mean that we aren't including some seeds, nuts, raw greens or veggies. The reason why my goal is 100% fruit is because I am detoxing. Veggies, greens, nuts and seeds will slow down a detox and may prevent the healing that you are looking for or at least slow it down.

Also as a quick tip, eating a meal of cooked sweet potatoes in addition to your fruit, can get you out of an elimination issue and back on track. Also sweet potatoes (seasoned with sage not salt) is a great way to curb a cooked food craving. They say boiling or steaming is best if you are going to cook a vegetable like sweet potatoes. I prefer the taste better when I bake it, but I'm not eating them on a daily basis.

I’m loving the simplicity!

I love how simple this diet is and how easy it is for me to stick to it. Personally this is what I have been waiting for my whole life. I am feeling better that I have in a long time. And if I forget how great I am feeling I can just eat some cooked food and my digestive issues, acid, fatigue come right back and I feel weighed down again. When I eat fruit, I feel light and energized! I know my food is getting digested properly and elimination is better too. I look forward to a long healthy life on this fruitarian diet and you can too.

Give it a try for a day, or three days, or a week and you will see what I mean!

I hope this article helped you to see that YES! There is plenty of protein in the form of amino acids in fruit for a fruitarian diet and there is no need to worry that you aren't getting enough on this type of diet. Even if you are including some vegetables, because there's protein in vegetables too. As you can see when we make fruit our primary food (which is intended by God) then we get what we need and our bodies thank us for it with optimal health.

Raw vegan fruitarian for optimal health!!!
